A Ph.D. scholarship is available for a student to join the
Precision and Nanopositioning project at the University of Newcastle.
The project involves the design and control of nanopositioning devices
with sub-nanometer accuracy for Atomic Force Microscopy applications.
The successful candidate will have excess to the state-of-the-art laboratory facilities including
a high-precision Atomic Force Microscope; to work with a number of experts in their fields;
and to attend premier international conferences.
Applicants will have a background in
Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering, finite-element-analysis, control, or microscopy.
Applicants with experimental experience are preferred.
The scholarship includes tuition fees and living allowance of $25,392 p.a. (2014 rate), with possible top-up. This amount is indexed annually.
